SKIMMIA JAPONICA

Flowers Spring
Potting or re-potting time October
Position in garden during summer Light shade
Potting Mixture 4

Skimmia is an attractive Asiatic evergreen shrub sometimes grown in the window garden for its berry like, red fruit, which glows upon the plant during the winter. Plants are usually purchased from a greenhouse or florist already in fruit.

If you wish to grow a plant for more than one season, and have fruit the second year, it will be necessary to have two plants; as male and female flowers are borne on separate plants. One of each is necessary, of course, for the formation of fruit.

Grow in a cool place and water frequently.
